What does your sculpture need?
A broken fragment, surface deposits and an unstable base call for different responses. The first assessment considers visible damage, earlier repairs, the material and the way the sculpture is supported.
Depending on the findings, the proposed work may include cleaning tests, careful cleaning, stabilisation, repairs or limited reconstruction of missing forms. The scope and intended appearance are discussed before work begins. Photographs can help prepare this conversation, but they do not always establish the material or the extent of hidden damage.

Garden statues, villas and outdoor settings
An outdoor sculpture is assessed together with its surroundings. Sea spray, irrigation, rainwater runoff, vegetation and the condition of the base can influence the proposed approach. Access through a garden, along steps or across a terrace also affects how the work can be organised.
The atelier considers enquiries from private owners and professionals, including architects, landscape designers, decorators, hotels and estate managers. For several pieces, identify each sculpture in the photographs so that its condition and proposed work can be discussed separately.
On-site work or transport to the atelier?
Moving the sculpture is not always necessary. The decision depends on its condition, dimensions, estimated weight, access and the operations required. Photographs of the route to the work, including steps and narrow entrances, help prepare the assessment.
Any transport, lifting or installation arrangements should be identified in the proposal. If the sculpture has a known protected heritage status, mention it at the first contact so that the applicable requirements can be checked before work is planned.
Preparing your enquiry
Please include:
- One overall photograph and close-ups of cracks, loose pieces or damaged areas.
- Approximate height, width and depth; the material, if known.
- The town and whether the piece is indoors or outdoors.
- Photographs of the base and the access route.
- Any information about previous repairs or known heritage protection.
- Your preferred outcome and any date the project needs to take into account.
An initial exchange helps determine whether further photographs, information or an on-site examination are needed. The quotation should clarify the agreed scope, exclusions and any study, access or transport costs before commitment.

Atelier Nazarian also creates bespoke pieces in stone and wood. The published projects show a stone lotus and a face carved in olive wood, from work in progress to the finished pieces. These are original creations, not restoration case studies.
